How to Brew the Perfect Cup of Loose Leaf Tea

Your Perfect Cup of Loose Leaf Tea
Brewing loose leaf tea is an art that unlocks the full potential of each tea leaf. Follow these simple steps for the perfect cup:
1. Measure Your Tea
Use approximately 2 grams of loose leaf tea per 200 ml of water. Adjust to your taste preference.
2. Heat Your Water
Refer to our tea brewing guide for the optimal temperature for each tea type.
For example:
• Black Tea: 95°C
• Green Tea: 80°C
• Oolong Tea: 85–90°C
• Herbal Tea: 100°C
3. Pour and Steep
Pour hot water over your tea leaves in the teapot. Allow it to steep for the recommended time (usually 2–5 minutes, depending on the tea).
4. Separate Tea from Leaves
After 2–3 minutes, separate the brewed tea from the leaves to prevent over-steeping and further fermentation, which can cause bitterness.
5. Let It Cool Before Drinking
Wait until your tea cools down to around 60–65°C before sipping. This temperature reveals the full flavour and aroma without burning your palate.
